1. Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
Emergency First Aid at Work is a comprehensive course that will provide learners with an extensive set of skills needed to feel confident in real-life situations.
Emergency First Aid at Work is beneficial to the workplace. This course is suitable for people aged 16+ who might need to provide first aid by responding to a wide range of accidents, injuries and illnesses that they could encounter in their workplace.

The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification is designed for workplaces that fall into a low-risk category and smaller workplaces. What is taught in a first aid qualification must be a combination of practical, real-life simulation, as well as theory-based information. This is why providing resuscitation dummies to fit within the different age groups of children you will be working with, is imperative due to different techniques that need to be practiced depending on the size and age of the infant.
What is taught in pediatric first aid (PFA) and emergency pediatric first aid qualifications, gives you the skills and hands-on learning, via resuscitation dummies and equipment to practice on different sizes and ages of baby, infant and child to comply with OFSTED syllabus for child first aid courses.
What is taught in the rest of the OFSTED approved first aid qualification, covered in both the 6-hour emergency pediatric first aid course and the 12-hour pediatric first aid course, includes learning how to;
o Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
o Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
o Help a baby or child who is having a seizure
o Help a baby or child who is choking
o Help a baby or child who is bleeding
o Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock)
This skill is of utmost importance and will set the pace for the rest of the emergency pediatric first aid course, by emphasizing the importance of assessing each emergency that may arise within your setting. It is from learning this procedure that you will then be able to use your skills to deal with any emergency.
To achieve the full OFSTED approved first aid qualification, you would need to complete a further 6 hours, which can be taken online on a theory basis after completion of this 6-hour emergency pediatric first aid qualification.
