How to explore Au pair professions in the UK?

If you are interested in becoming an Au Pair through our services then do the same as follows:

• Send us a copy of your CV which includes all of your working experience and, where possible, any relevant experience with children (This could include babysitting and if you have much younger siblings, cousins, nieces or nephews you have cared for.)
• Along with that, we need references that are verifiable and a Paediatric First Aid Certification dated within 3 years (if you do not have this Childcare Help agency will offer Paediatric First Aid courses 5 days per week including weekends for our placed au pairs FREE of charge).
• Obtain DBS or Police check.
  (NOTE: These requirements are due to the sensitive nature of working with children. If you do not have these, Childcare Help may offer you guidance on how to obtain them.)
• The next step is to arrange an interview with one of our Au Pair consultants to discuss your CV and check your references, identity, police check, and relevant qualifications for authenticity.
• Finally, your Au Pair consultant will start the search for your Au Pair host family, they will arrange interviews for you with the family and prepare you beforehand so that you can walk into the interview full of confidence.

What do a family expect from you as their Au Pair?
A family that comes to Childcare Help in the search for their perfect Au Pair:

• Expects to dress appropriately within the home and when they are with the children and respect any wishes that the family may have regarding this. You may be required to prepare healthy meals for the children which include meat, if this is an issue for you, you must make this known to the agency and family at the time of the interview.
• Looks for someone willing to commit for a minimum of one year. This will ensure that you will be able to get the most out of your UK experience and allows you to make bonds with the family that could last a lifetime.
• Expects you to follow the routines that are set out by the family that may include school runs, ensuring that the house remains tidy by picking up the children’s clothes and toys, keeping their own space tidy, light housekeeping such as washing dishes and vacuuming. Occasionally an Au Pair may need to pick up some groceries for the family and prepare light meals for the children.
• Expects to remain respectful of the family and the rules that they may set for the children and the house. Au Pairs need to understand that the child’s needs and safety are always the number one priority when they are with them.
