How Can I find a Nanny?
Parents want to be at peace when they go to work, knowing that their children & home are safe. Finding and hiring a Nanny has been never easy since parents want the best of the best for their children.
Going through the process of finding a Nanny through an agency will help you to get the best options for your children & home. This is one of the main reasons that parents decide to find a Nanny through an agency.
Childcare Help, as a Domestic Premium Childcare Agency, makes sure that all the candidates that we send to our clients have:

  • Minimum two references from previous employment
  • DBS Check
  • First – Aid Certificate
  • More than 2 years of experience, years of experience that may change depending on the position.

How much does hiring a nanny cost?
The first step is to take into consideration whether you are searching for a temporary nanny or a permanent nanny.
If you are looking for a temporary nanny, Childcare Help will charge you £30 per day as commission; after this, the family will need to pay the hourly wage to the nanny directly, which is around £15 gross per hour with a minimum of 5 hours per day.

How much will I need to pay the agency for finding me a Nanny?
If you are looking for a Nanny, Nanny-Housekeeper, or Housekeeper in a permanent capacity, our registration fee is £69 (£93 for Au Pair registrations). After you register, our consultants will start sending you candidates’ profiles that will suit your needs, and arrange interviews with them, finishing the process with the contract offer to the candidate.
This is when the consultant will calculate the commission fee that the family will need to pay to the agency. To calculate the commission fee, the consultant will take 18% -20% of the candidate’s net salary. To put this into numbers, for example, if the salary of the nanny that you are hiring is £450 per week, you will need to times this by 52 (number of weeks in a year), and then times this by 16% to obtain the cost of the agency fee:
£450 x 52 = £23,400 x 18% = £4,212 (+ VAT)
How does the Childcare Help agency work?
Our nannies are happy to come in during the day, assist the children with home studies, take some pressure off the parents so they can focus on work, and provide general care throughout the day. We have a range of different nationalities as well so we can provide additional language support if required.
Childcare Help has a team of experienced Nannies and also Nanny tutors to help you and your family. We have a database of qualified and professional nannies who come from all different kids’ care and even education backgrounds such as teachers, nursery managers, classroom teaching assistants, and tutors.
About the different salaries that domestic staff have, for example, nannies and governess salaries are dependent, as in any industry, on several factors. In the UK demand for skilled, experienced nanny candidates outrank availability, for this reason, an experienced, talented nanny may demand a wage as high as £25 per hour.
Variables that contribute to the salary range include:
Hours and degree of flexibility:
If your role is part-time and offers only a few hours in the afternoon or requires a great deal of flexibility which prevents a nanny from obtaining another part-time role, the salary requested may be higher to accommodate a nanny’s living costs.

Skills:
Perfectly fluent English speakers command higher salaries outside of the UK. Bilingual speaking candidates experienced in teaching an additional language or a nanny who could assist with the learning of a musical instrument such as violin may command a higher salary.
Location:
UK has a higher demand for experienced nannies than the home counties, although educated and skilled nannies candidates are rarer in rural locations so UK, rural and overseas positions to areas such as the Middle East, Russia Africa, China, and South America, command higher salaries from nannies.
Experience:
A nanny with 10 years of experience will command a higher salary than a nanny with 2 years experience.
As with any industry whether banking, finance, law, education, the more experience a candidate has the higher their salary expectations.
Education:
Qualifications demonstrate a nanny’s professionalism. A nanny with a Bachelor of Education or OCN Level 4 qualification may expect a higher salary than a nanny who has not sought to qualify in their vocational field.
Your Childcare Help nanny consultant can advise the salary expectations for your cases.
Below is a guideline of salary expectations in keeping with market rates, based on the expected salaries of nannies and governesses with between 1-20 years of experience.
