The difference between EFAW and FAW:
This course is suitable for people aged 16+ who might need to provide first aid by responding to a wide range of accidents, injuries, and illnesses that they could encounter in their workplace.
Both of these courses are beneficial to the workplace but sometimes it can be hard to know which one is best for you and/or your company.
An emergency first aider’s role is to maintain life and prevent the situation from worsening while waiting for the emergency services to arrive. A first-aider should be able to recognize and diagnose injuries and illnesses, as well as understanding how to administer emergency treatment and life support.
In conclusion:
EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) training enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.
FAW (First Aid at Work) training includes EFAW and also equips the first-aider to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illnesses.
